Billeh Nickerson (Vancouver)

A festival favorite! Billeh Nickerson is the author of the award-nominated The Asthmatic Glassblower, and Let Me Kiss it Better: Elixirs for the Not So Straight and Narrow. He is also co-editor, along with John Barton, of Seminal: The Anthology of Canada’s Gay Male Poet (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2007), the first collection of its kind in Canada. A founding member of the performance troupe “Haiku Night in Canada,” he is a past editor of both PRISM International and Event Magazine. He lives in Vancouver, where he works as an event programmer at the Vancouver International Writers Festival and teaches creative writing at Kwantlen University College. He is the 2nd Vice-Chair of The Writers’ Union of Canada the 2008 Writer in Residence at Queen’s University.
